The World Bank reported on 10 April 2018 that South Africa remains a dual economy with one of the highest inequality rates in the world. So, imagine how many South Africans live with that water angst 365 days of the year.

The Wishing Well International Foundation South Africa is looking to make a difference and ease some of that angst that mothers and families endure on a daily basis. For just R150, you can change a person’s life for ten years.

The most affected by waterborne health issues are the young and the old, who suffer millions of deaths each year for this very reason.

In partnership with market leader in water purification, H2O International SA, The Wishing Well International Foundation (WWIF) South Africa, a non-profit organisation, provides clean, safe drinking water to developing areas. They install purifiers manufactured by Hydraid in the USA. These technologically advanced biofoam filters kill the bacteria and reduce the number of unwanted contaminants found in water. The affordability, ease of use and minimal maintenance of the biofoam filters make them the most proven and sustainable filtration methods for rural areas. In addition, the WWIF SA establishes and train a committee in the areas they install these water purifiers. The local committee continuously checks the water filters to ensure that they are working and being used correctly. Every year or two the WWIF representatives also inspect the filters that have been deployed. Past inspections have been very positive, the communities highly value the purified water and maintain these purifiers beautifully.

Wishing Well International Foundation USA has also pledged to double any contributions made in South Africa for South Africans, with a limit of R100 000. Furthermore, 100% of all contributions go to installing and maintaining water purifier – every cent raised is a cent fighting angst and despair.
