Selected national parks open to SA citizens this week

It’s that time of year when South Africans get to enjoy the country’s awe-inspiring natural heritage for free – thanks to SA National Parks Week.

The 2019 SA National Parks Week will take place from 8 to 15 September 2019, when South Africans can get free day visitor entry to most of our 21 national parks.

And, this year, South African National Parks (SANParks) has extended the week to include weekends following numerous requests from South Africans who don’t have time to visit the national parks during the week.

SA National Park Week, allows local visitors, particularly with people from the surrounding communities in mind, free entry to almost all national parks. Excluded from the list is The Namaqua National Park, Boulders Penguin Colony and the Table Mountain Cableway in Table Mountain National Park.

It should be noted that free access to the parks does not include free access to accommodation facilities and other tourist activities.
