An iconic South African hotel has been rated as the top resort hotel in Africa and its company ranked number four in the top 25 hotel brands in the world.

Travel + Leasure Magazine recently gave The Oyster Box top honours at its World’s Best Awards while Red Carnation Hotels, which owns The Oyster Box, was listed as one of the top global brands.

Overlooking the Umhlanga Lighthouse and Indian Ocean, The Oyster Box is a five-star luxury boutique hotel and spa in Umhlanga, KwaZulu-Natal.

The World’s Best Awards are hosted annually and voted for by hundreds of thousands of readers.

This year’s World’s Best Awards survey closed on March 2, just before widespread stay-at-home orders were implemented as a result of Covid-19.
