SA’s heartfelt social media reactions to Limpopo choir on America’s Got Talent

A talented South African youth choir auditioned on leading global reality show America’s Got Talent recently, and in doing so they stole our hearts!

The choir from Limpopo took to the stage and stole the show. The Ndlovu Youth Choir have been performing together for 10 years and for some of them this was their first time travelling to the United States.

“We’ve always been waiting for a choir like this, something we’ve never heard before. Your energy was literally bouncing off to me right there, it was great. You, I’m going to remember,” said Simon Cowell, one of the four judges on the hit show.

People shared heartfelt reactions on social media:

Choir director Ralf Schmitt shared that the kids come from one of the most impoverished communities and managed to uplift themselves with their talent.

“To see them standing on the stage of America’s Got Talent tonight you can’t help but burst with pride.”

Even the SA government was moved to say something…

The judges and the audience sat and witnessed a mesmerising performance of Vicky Sampson’s classic, African Dream.

Vicky Sampson congratulated the choir on Jacaranda FM – listen to what she said by clicking here.

The Ndlovu choir got four yeses from the judges, meaning they get to advance to the next round of the competition. The group is no stranger to viral fame in 2018 their rendition of Ed Sheeran’s Shape of You with Wouter Kellerman got over 2 million views on YouTube.
The choir thanked everyone for the amazing support they have received thus far on social media.
