London. New York. Singapore – and now good old Jozi. If you want to grab a drink at one of the world’s top bars, you won’t have to travel abroad.

The World’s 50 Best Bars is an annual list that celebrates the best of the international drinks industry. The awards are owned and organised by William Reed Business Media, the group behind The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants and Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants.

It’s official! You may have seen some posts flying around that mention that Sin+Tax took the #88 spot on the extended list of the World’s 50 Best Bars for 2019. What we found out just last night is that we are the only bar in all of Africa to have made it on to this prestigious list! Words can not describe how ecstatic and deeply honoured we feel. Thank you! This year, Rosebank’s Sin+Tax bar made the prestigious award’s extended list, ranking at number 88 on the 51-100 list. Sin+Tax is the only bar in Africa to make this year’s list.

The bar opened its doors in 2016 and has since drawn global attention. 

“We love exploring flavours and pushing boundaries,” the establishment claims on its Facebook page.
