SA woman could be the youngest African to finish gruelling mountain challenge

A 31-year-old South African woman is on track to be the youngest African to complete the Seven Summit Challenge.

The Seven Summits Challenge is composed of each of the highest mountain peaks spanning seven continents.

Capetonian Remy Kloos has already summited four of the seven mountains – Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa, Mount Elbrus in Europe, Aconcagua in South America and Mount Denali in North America.

According to Getaway, she is also aiming to be the first African to ever complete a double summit – reaching the top of both Mount Everest and the top of Mount Lhotse within 24 hours, the highest and fourth highest mountains in the world.

After battling depression, she is on a mission to live a life of adventure, joy and impact.

Kloos is aiming to finish the Seven Summits in 2020 by climbing Mount Everest in Nepal in April and Vison Massif in Antarctica in December.
