Photographer Joshua Rubin met a man named Fernando Mkhabela while he was looking for a builder and what he found inside Mkhabela’s house has amazed social media users.
What looks like an unassuming, informal shack from the outside is a stunning three-bedroomed apartment on the inside.
A shack on the outside, a palace on the inside, Fernando Mkhabela’s three-room shack can easily be mistaken for a luxury hotel in the city centre.https://t.co/RLard2oybh

We went back to his shack on the second floor of a container and when I saw it I was blown away. It has running water, electricity and the architecture is amazing. The best part about it is he did it all himself. We became good friends and I can’t wait to do more work with him!
