Caretakers at South Africa’s Care for Wild Rhino Sanctuary (CfWRS) recently joined in on the viral social media challenge – with their orphaned rhinos in tow.
CfWRS rescues, rehabilitates and releases orphaned rhinos with the long term conservation vision of securing black and white rhino breeding populations in protected areas through community involvement and sustainable solutions.
Rhinos and caretakers took part in the Jerusalema Challenge as part of World Rhino Day 2020.
‘Ngilondoloze’ from the hit song translates to ‘guard me’. “We will guard and protect these orphans and this iconic species. Together, we can ensure a future for all five rhino species,” the organisation wrote in a statement.
